Fishing, Thanksgiving, and Christmas oh my!

Wow! This year is really flying by. A lot has happened in the last month.

Michael went steel-head fishing with the Utley boys.

He says he had a lot of fun, but when it came down to it, I think he was too cold to think about anything else. The boys say the funniest thing that happened on the trip was the amount of time it took Mike to get ready, and they all thought he's such a pre-madona he had to blow dry his hair. But Mike says what actually happened was the shower head in the hotel went bezerk! He says it sprayed his long johns and got them so wet.... and he wasn't about to spend the day in the freezing cold in wet underwear. Mike only caught the fish you have to throw back, but they ended up bringing home a lot... and we still have one in our freezer.

We had our first Thanksgiving at the Coats Casa. It all worked out really well. The Utleys and Grandpa Hickman came up to help me cook, shop, and everything else that comes with the holidays.

Everyone even helped us put the Christmas lights on our house, and I have to say they did a wonderful job.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Love,

Michael and Carissa

She's A Girl!

Baby Coats is growing...
We found out we're going to have a daughter and we're really excited. In our 20 week ultrasound we also learned she's a thumb sucker and has really cute feet. Its fun to know she's healthy and moving like crazy.

(I know it's hard to see, but here she is sucking her thumb.)

(Here's her feet... they're at the top of the pic.)

OH... just as a side note... Every time Michael and I go to the store, he automaticaly looks at things like Barbies and says, "This is going to be our life."

Baby Coats First Picture

I know it's been a really long time, but we're already 18 weeks along and about to find out if baby "Jedidiah" is a boy or girl.
The Coats fam has been calling our baby Jedidiah because, "Mormons have a million kids and they name them all Jedidiah." (Thanks to that 18 kids and never going to stop popping them out show)
I thought it would be fun to post it's first picture, taken at 6 weeks.

OUR HOUSE

Our New House

Mike and I moved into our house on June 1, 2009. It was quite the drawn out process to get in but we finaly did.

Little did we know the weeds would TOTALLY become overgrown within days. Thanks to a neighbor we learned we could just mow over them and it would look like grass. So we bought a lawn mower and Mike has been hard at work ever since.

I love cooking in the kitchen. The island makes everything so much nicer. Plus it's great not to be eating frozen meals every night!

We're still working out the bugs on where to hang the pictures, but we're getting there.

Here's our fabulous game room. We spend a lot of time on the Wii. (too bad you can't pull real weeds with the Wii!)

We're lucky to have a guest room with our family living so far away. Hopefully this will make it easier for them to all come visit.

Here's our Master Suite. Its funny what a small difference it makes from living in a space this size, to having it be your bedroom!

Just around the corner from our bedroom, is the office.

It's a mess right now, but we'll get it cleaned up..... FOR WHEN THE BABY ARRIVES!

CONGRATULATIONS MOM & DAD!

YOU'RE GOING TO BE GRANDPARENTS!

if you're reading this now, and haven't passed out yet. Please call us!

The Turkey Hunt

We went turkey hunting with the Utley family over Mothers day weekend. We had the best time. Everyone who has a four wheeler brought one... including Easton. Easton hadn't been on his before, so Grandpa had the genius idea to tie a rope to the back, and take him for a walk.

It was a good laugh. We had a good time sitting by the fire... ate amazing food by Eric and Emily... and even made cakes in a cup.

The boys also took some time to shoot the guns, and Grandpa took home a turkey!

Being Spontanious

A lot has been going on in our lives lately. We've been waiting to get into our house and we've been living out of boxes. So to get our minds off of everything we decided to go to Jackson Hole for the night one Friday. This was probably the most spontaneous thing we've done... in the whole two years we've been together. We had a lot of fun! We just spent time in town square and ate at Bubba's Bar-B-Q. I don't think we thought about the house... or the boxes all night.

The Bear Attack

Okay, so maybe it wasn't an attack exactly. I had the fun and lucky opportunity to go and report on the new baby bear cubs at Yellowstone Bear World. So... I decided to drag my cute little hubby along to be my photographer. When we got there it was before they opened to the public so they brought out two of the smallest bear cubs I'd ever seen. They just handed me one. It was so cute! They offered to let Michael hold one too, but I think he was afraid.
They were only a few weeks old so they didn't have teeth quite yet... However they did have claws!

He scratched my arm up a lot... but it was defiantly worth it. I went around all afternoon waiting for someone to ask what happened to my arm.... Then I would tell them I was attacked by a bear!

OUR WEDDING DAY

Our Wedding was INCREDIBLE! We were surrounded by all of our closest family and friends and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Friday February 6th was amazing. It had been raining a little on and off throughout the day but what can you expect for a weatherman?
The ceremony was beautiful. We were married in front of a fireplace at Stonebridge Golf Club in West Valley. It all went by so fast and it was quite a blur. Even Easton (the ring barer) and Emery (our flower girl) did a great job. Easton had been telling everyone his job for the wedding was to dance, and eat cupcakes. But when all was said and done he did a lot more. He walked down the isle "slowly" like we had practiced, ate plenty of cup cakes, did a lot of dancing, pulled my chair out from under me when Michael went to take off my garter, and at the end of the night he even pulled the fire alarm. Oh Memories! But hey, he's three so he can get away with it all because he's so cute.
We just want to thank everyone, especially our Parents for all their hard work, time and money they put into our special day.
